Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. Successfully conducted its 13th Annual General Meeting on 5th June 2008 at Russian Culture Centre. Despite of drastic political change, transitional environment and high competition the company earned 24 crore, 86 lacs and 86 thousand premium which is 11.53 % growth on previous year and net profit was Rs. 2 crore, 20 lacs and 88 thousand i.e. 76.11% growth. On top of this company was also able to decrease its management expenses 2.59 % which proves the effective management of the company.

The company in its current fiscal year has obtained 46.61 % increment in the premium as compared to previous year. EIC have its own integrated software and has been doing various effective management reforms which shows that the company in the future will be able to do better. The company from its establishment period was able to cash dividends to its shareholders (till now 70% cash dividend and 1:1 and 2:1 bonus share) and was able to increase its share capital to 9 crore and this year company is giving share holders 8:1 bonus share thus making its capital to Rs. 10 crore according to Insurance Act without giving any financial burden to its investor, the only non-life insurance company to achieve this feat.

Everest Insurance organized an Insurance Awarness Program for ECON (Export Council Of Nepal) on 23rd May 2008 at Everest Hotel. In the program Vice Chairman of Everest Insurance Co. Ltd. Mr. Ratan Lal Sanghai said that ,13 yrs of operation in insurance business Everest Insurance has been conducting this type of program and will continue in the future also. At the program Everest Insurance has provided ECON Members and their Associates, Accidental & Medical Insurance to the tune of Rs. 2,230,000.00 free of cost against which each individual were awarded with the insurance certificate.

Representative from ECON associates, Bank Of Kathmandu, DHL Nepal were also present at the program. Mr. Raju Shrestha, President of ECON, appreciated the program and thanked the organizer for the free insurance.
